VEGGIE MOMOS RECIPE


It is one of the most popular fast foods in Nepal. Momo has become a traditional delicacy in Nepal, Tibet and among Nepalese/Tibetan communities in Bhutan, as well as Sikkim state and Darjeeling district of India. Momos have also spread to other countries like United States (some parts), UK and India.


INGREDIENTS:

FOR DOUGH:
  • 2 cups All purpose flour(Maida).
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder.
FOR STUFFING:
  • 1 cup grated carrots.
  • 1 cup grated cabbage.
  • Oil.
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions.
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic.
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce.
  • Salt.
  • 1/4 tsp Vinegar.
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper.

RECIPE :
  • Mix the maida, salt and baking powder in a bowl and knead to a stiff dough with water.
  • Brush some oil over dough and let it rest.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the onion and garlic.
  • Add the carrot and cabbage.Saute over high heat. 
  • Add Soy sauce, salt, vinegar and black pepper and mix.
  • Roll the dough thin and cut into small round shape.
  •  Place some filling in the centre and wet the edges.
  • Bring edges together to cover the filling. Twist to seal and fill the rest in the same way.
  • Steam for about 10 minutes.
SERVE HOT WITH SOY SAUCE AND CHILLY SAUCE.😋
