Palak Paneer

Personally, I am just dying heart fan of paneer and I strongly believe that it's fascinating in all of its variants. Palak paneer is also one of its wannabes. It is easy and yummy at home.

INGREDIENTS:-
  • Spinach - 500gms.
  • paneer - 200gm (cubes).
  • Refined oil - 2 tbsp.
  • cumin seed - 1/2 spoon.
  • Kasuri methi - 2 spoons.
  • Bay leaf.
  • Tomato- 2.
  • Green chilly - 2.
  • Ginger.
  • Garlic.
  • Onion - chopped.
  • Cream - 2 tbsp.
  • Salt.
  • Red chilly powder.
  • Garam masala.
  • Turmeric powder.
  • Asafoetida / Hing.
RECIPE:
  • Rinse the spinach and boil it in a container for 5-6 minutes.
  • After boiling, put it immediately in an ice cold water. This helps to preserve green color of spinach.
  • Drain the ice cold water and add the spinach in the blender with chopped ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Make a smooth puree.
  • Heat oil in a pan and put cumin seeds and bay leaf.
  • Add chopped onions and saute till golden brown.
  • Add finely chopped garlic and saute.
  • Add tomato puree and cook until it leaves oil from the sides of the mixture.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, and asafoetida. Stir well.
  • Add above prepared Palak puree and stir well.
  • Add about 1/2 cup of water or as requires and simmer for about 6-7 minutes or more till the palak is cooked.
  • Add salt and garam masala. Stir.
  • Add paneer cubes and stir gently.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes on low flame.
  • Add crushed Kasuri methi.
  • Add cream and stir gently to mix it uniformly.
Garnish:
  • Use cream to garnish.
  • You can also garnish your dish with long chopped onions.

It is one of the most popular fast foods in Nepal.  Momo has become a traditional delicacy in Nepal, Tibet and among Nepalese/Tibetan communities in Bhutan, as well as  Sikkim  state and  Darjeeling district  of India. Momos have also spread to other countries like United States (some parts), UK and India. INGREDIENTS : FOR DOUGH : 2 cups All purpose flour(Maida). 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 tsp Baking powder.
